About Me
I am disciplined in, committed to, and passionate about ballet. I like being at the vanguard of the arts. I received my ballet training from the National Institute of Fine Arts (INBA) in Mexico City, Mexico. Upon graduation from the INBA, I joined the National Ballet Company of Mexico under the direction of Fernando Alonso. During my professional career, I performed pas de deux in many productions including Esmeralda, Raymonda, The Sleeping Beauty, The Flower Festival in Genzano, and Paquita. Prior to moving to San Diego, I was the Artistic Director and lead teacher of the Sergio Franco Academy of Classical Ballet in Chihuahua, Mexico. In 2017, I spent the summer studying Cuban ballet methodology in Havana, Cuba. For the last 20 years, I have been teaching classical ballet to the students of San Diego City Ballet School under the direction of Steven and Elizabeth Wistrich. For several years I was the choreographer of the Lakeside Union School District’s annual International Fair. I trained the lead (“Billy”) in the California Youth Conservatory’s production of Billy Elliot, and I have trained and brought students to the Youth America Grand Prix. In addition, many of my former students are in internationally recognized schools like the School of American Ballet, The Royal Ballet School, and the American Ballet Theater just to name a few. From 2019 to 2023 I also worked at Golden State Ballet. Finally, I am a registered Royal Academy of Dance teacher, which means I can assess my students’ ballet progress and provide them and their families with official certifications of their levels that are recognized and accepted around the world.
